homes. Located in old St-Eustache at the intersection of
rue St-Eustache and rue Féré, its vast grounds of over

History! Two houses occupy this site. The Gratton house, on
the west side, still has its gambrel roof, while the
Chesser house, on the east side, has had its upper storey
extended by a mansard roof. The Gratton house was built
between 1782 and 1785 by André Gratton. Built almost at the
same time as the church, it is the oldest surviving
dwelling in St-Eustache. In 1809, the extension on the east
side was built by John Chesser. In the 19th century, the
houses had many owners and functions, including a pottery
and a local school.
